As a multi-award-winning wedding cake designer, my work brings together artistry, flavour and a deep connection to the landscape that surrounds me.
Rooted in Skye and inspired by the natural world, I create contemporary, sculptural cakes shaped by texture, colour, movement and the changing seasons.
From dramatic coastlines and ancient rock formations to wild grasses and weathered surfaces, the landscape around me is a constant source of inspiration. I bring those influences into each design alongside exceptional flavour, creating cakes that are expressive, considered and unmistakably Wilde.

Hello, I’m Laura.
Cake artist, nature lover and founder of Wilde Cake Studio.
For almost a decade, I have been creating wedding cakes from my studio on the Isle of Skye, combining my love of art, nature and exceptional flavour.
Wilde Cake Studio grew from a desire to create a a business rooted in the place I love, while building a working life that allows me to be creative and present for my family.
I’m passionate about creating cakes that feel personal to the people and places they are made for, and I love working closely with couples to bring their ideas to life.
It’s a privilege to create something that becomes part of such an important day.

Living and creating on the Isle of Skye means being surrounded by the landscapes that inspire my work every day. I want to care for them in the way I work, too.
From the ingredients and packaging I choose to the ways I reduce waste within the studio, I’m continually looking for more thoughtful ways to work.
For every cake I create, I plant a tree through Ecologi - a small way of giving something back to the natural world that gives me so much inspiration.
